My Favourite Sport: Tennis

by Adrian Chan (4C)

Tennis is a fun sport. You need to win 3 sets to win the match. To win a set, you need to win 6 or 7 games. If there are 5 games each, play to 7. If there are 6 games each, a tiebreak happens, which means you play to 7 points. If 6 points each play to 8 points, and if 7 points, each play to 9.

If you win the first point, the score is 15-0. If you win the second point, the score is 30-0 . If you win the third point, the score is 40-0.

Now, let’s talk about some great players, like Sinner, Zverev and Alcaraz.

Sinner in action.

Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner is only 22 years old but he ranked #4 in the world. He is good at everything., like back-handed shots. He is also improving at drop shots.

He is an Italian and the youngest man who advanced to the quarter final.

Zverev reaching for a ball.

Alexander Zverev

Alexander Zverev is 26 years old and is ranked #10 in the world. His serves are deadly. He is a German and is the ATP winner in 2018. He is consistently in the top level of players worldwide.

The 20-year-old phenom, Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz is only 20 years old but he is ranked #2 in the world. He beat Ruud and won the U.S. OPEN in 2022. He is a Spaniard whose greatest skill is his drop shots.

These are my favorite tennis players. They are going to get stronger in the future as they are all still very young. I am excited to watch their matches over the course of their careers!
