Gaming Corner: Gears and Controllers

by Jacob Lee (6F)

Are you still playing Minecraft or Fortnite with your laggy phone and no gear? If so, follow my budgeted and accurate gear guide! The budget is 700 HKD, but you can buy some first and then some later.

1.Controller

If you are still gaming with touch screens on phones, get a controller and have an ultimate gaming experience! I personally recommend Xbox wireless controllers as they are affordable and super cross-compatible(yes, even ios!). I use the stormcloud vapor limited edition. Below is the Volt edition

2. Headsets

There are actually cheap headsets from logitech, although not found in main pages, just google search ‘H390’ and there you go. H390 is a wired, usb-a headset, it also has a logi-quality microphone and high connection.

3. Fans

Fans are sooo important for consoles, iPads and processing units. If you don’t want your console to be laggy and on fire, put the fan in a cardboard box and attach it to your console, it looks stupid, but totally worth it.

4. Mouse(and Keyboard)

The mouse is very useful…I guess? There’s no real reason to buy that once you have a gaming console (unless you are an RGB fan).

5. CPUs

Now we’re getting to the hardware. If you can afford it, (just perfectly fits the budget, no other gear and fancy stuff except controller and headset) upgrade to a better CPU, like intel gaming core i7 the same works for GPU. But if you can’t afford such a sharp amount of 400 dollars…

6. Cloud Gaming

Don’t ever use a phone for gaming unless you're a noob! The phone has low compatibility, and everything you don’t want in gaming appears in your phone. Ipads are a great choice, though, since you can use cloud gaming and turn it into a gaming console.

And that’s it! No, really, I mean if you aren't a streamer that's all you need for an immersive and fun gaming experience! Now stop using your phone and go do some real gaming!
