All About Kuromi
By Lam Jing Kei Olivia
Many people love Kuromi, and I am one of them. Her popularity continues to grow, especially among kids who are drawn to her unique character. Kuromi's adventures primarily take place in Japan, where she was created by Sanrio. Like other Sanrio characters, her design is inspired by early 20th-century animation. Kuromi has become a well-known figure, and her merchandise is diverse, making her a profitable brand.
On October 31st, Kuromi made her appearance in Mariland. She has a family, including her mother, Mama, her father, Papa, and an older sister named Romina. Kuromi enjoys the colors black, hot pink, and purple, and she has hobbies like cooking and writing in her diary. On October 26th, 2021, Sanrio launched the "Kuromify the World Project," introducing Kuromi's debut song, "Greedy Greedy." The song has both Japanese and English versions, accompanied by a dance challenge that invites fans to submit videos of themselves performing a routine for a chance to be featured in a music video.
Originally, My Melody and Kuromi were childhood friends, but they became rivals for unknown reasons. Although their relationship can seem hostile, with Kuromi often acting like an enemy, there's a fine line between friendship and rivalry. Deep down, Kuromi's true desire is to reconnect with My Melody.
In the end, I believe that Kuromi and My Melody can become good friends again. I hope they will reconcile and live happily together in the future.
