Have you ever been to the USA? What places have you visited? In this article, I will discuss some of the most famous cities in the country.

New York

New York, located in New York State, is the most populous city in the USA, although it is not the capital. The city is named after James, Duke of York. New York City consists of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. Both of the city’s major airports are situated in Queens. Brooklyn, located at the western tip of the city, is the most populous borough.

Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the most populous city in California and is located on the west coast of the United States. It is home to famous attractions like Hollywood, Echo Park, and Venice Beach. Originally part of the First Mexican Empire in 1821, Los Angeles became par

t of the USA after the Mexican-American War in 1848. Notably, Los Angeles will host the Summer Olympics in 2028, marking its third time after previous games in 1932 and 1984.

San Francisco

San Francisco, also in California, is the fourth most populous city in the state. In 2022, it welcomed over 1.7 million visitors, making it the fifth most visited city in the USA. San Francisco is famous for having the oldest Chinatown in North America and is well-known for the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is the capital of the USA and is located in the eastern part of the country. The city features many renowned landmarks, including the White House, the Washington Monument, and the National Mall. Established as the capital in 1783 after the USA's victory over the UK, Washington D.C. has remained the nation’s capital ever since.
