Why BLACKPINK is so Popular

BLACKPINK, a Korean girl band, is extremely popular these days. It consists of four members: JENNIE KIM, JISOO KIM, ROSE and LISA. 

BLACKPINK is a K-pop girl band that is now recognized everywhere

Jisoo Kim

JISOO KIM is the eldest member of BLACKPINK, and is also known as “Unnie”. She is from Gunpo, Korea. JISOO is a very cute and kindhearted girl. She always takes care of the other members, although she is not as famous as them. Often people don’t recognize her talent or beauty compared to the other girls. In fact, people have called her unimportant. But, in my opinion, she is a wonderful part of BLACKPINK.

Jennie Kim

JENNIE KIM is the second oldest member of BLACKPINK. She is from Seoul, Korea. She spent some time abroad in New Zealand where she learned English and first heard about Korean entertainment. She is considered quite beautiful, even if people think she is a little lazy. 

“Rose” Park

Roseanne Park, also known as Rose, is the third member of BLACKPINK. She is the only member born and raised in New Zealand and Australia, where she learned to play guitar and piano as a child. People praise her “golden voice”, which is said to be unique in the K-pop industry. 

Lisa

Lisa is the fourth and final member of BLACKPINK. She is the only member from Thailand. She doesn’t look like the other members, which makes her stand out. She speaks several languages including English and Chinese. Lisa is perhaps the member that the public is most familiar with. She has lots of celebrity endorsements and can be seen on magazine covers and in fashion ads. 

After introducing all of the members, let's go over their history.  

BLACKPINK started as an “idol” group in 2016. After their debut, they did not shoot to fame immediately. But after their new songs “Whistle" and "Boombayah” were released, things changed and they started to gain a huge following. Nowadays, they are one of the most successful music groups in the world. 

The members of BLACKPINK have also done solo work, including “Lalisa” by Lisa, “On the Ground” by Rose, “You and Me” by Jennie and “Flower” by Jisoo. Personally, my favorite solo songs are “Lalisa” and “You and Me”. Overall, my favorite BLACKPINK song is “Crazy Over You”. And my favorite member is Rose because she is attractive, both her face and her voice.
