What To Do When You Are Bored In Class

by Natalie Chen (5F)

1. Send a note to your friend

When you write a note to your friend, remember to write “Pls Reply”, as then your friend should reply to you. You can kick off a whole conversation with them on paper! But remember to do it with someone NEAR you. You’ll get caught if you don’t!

2. Gratitude,anyone?

Write down what you’re grateful for. You can do this if you have a long list of things you’re grateful for. It’s a good way to practice gratitude. But I wouldn’t recommend it you’re someone who’s always negative or gloomy.

3. Make a bucket list

This would surely help make your dreams seem a bit closer! So much to do and plan for as an adult.

Making a bucket list of all the things you want to do in life is a good way to keep alert!

4. Have a sip of H20

Drink up! Then you can say, “I have to use the bathroom!” and your teacher will let you go out.

5. Hey, future self!

Write to 20-year-old you. Or even 50-year-old you. Just remember, only write what you want to read later on, duh!

6. Be a novelist

Use your creativity and pen the next Harry Potter or Sherlock Holmes.

7. Pretend to, well, write

Even if you can’t write (or you don’t want to), you can still pretend. That way your teacher will think you’re working hard.

Bored out of your mind? Write a story!

8. Sketch

Sketch your teacher. Don’t be offensive and make them ugly. Just see if you can draw them as they look. Then throw it away if you’re not proud of it.

9. Love or hate?

If you write about something you love, it’ll make you happy. Similarly, if you write about something you hate, you’ll be unhappy. Either way, at least you won’t be bored.

10. Make an excuse - then an escape

My stomach is hurting! I twisted my ankle. I’m dizzy! I need to refill my water bottle.

These are all nice excuses to leave the classroom. Then you can make a run for it down the hall!

Hope this helps you stay awake and stay not bored anymore!
