In our 5th lesson, the Creative Writing students learned about using hyperbole, or exaggeration, as a figure of speech. The idea of overstating, blowing things out of proportion to make a point.
We introduced the students to Chuck Norris jokes, made-up facts about American martial artist and actor Chuck Norris. These are exaggerated statements about Chuck Norris’ abilities, to the point of being nonsensical and impossible.
Unleashing their creativity, our students let their imaginations run wild and composed their own Chuck Norris jokes.
