What Are the Best Herbs?

by Jacob Lee (5D)

Have you ever thought about the best herbs? Herbs, often neglected, are plants whose leaves are used in giving flavour to particular dishes. So, what are the best herbs?

Recently, the Gazette did a poll of the best herbs and found that the most popular herb is mint, while the least popular herb is dill (for the full chart, see the picture above).

Perhaps mint is so popular since it has so many uses: mint candy, mint gum, mint jelly, mint tea, mint ice-cream. You name it. If something normal (like twist pasta) is added with mint, it immediately becomes tasty.

Dill, on the other hand, is apparently not liked as much. It is often made fun of online with hilarious puns, such as “dill with it”. Also, it starts with D which is also for Dog IQ and detest. And, if something tasty (like mussels or pickles) is added with dill, it becomes DILLGUSTING!!!!!!!!

Parsley has a bitter-sweet flavour and I'm OK with it! But most people hate it, so, whatever.

Perhaps they hate the bitterness of it.

Whatever the rankings are, let’s all agree that herbs are a great way to spice up our dishes.
