Poem: Cube Vans Along The Road

by Athena Tsui 6C

Cube Vans Along The Road

As boxes and packages-

Load into the cube van

Whatever the van could manage

Then it goes as far as it can.

Through the wastelands,

Through the highways

Till the tires have

Been replaced.

Then on and on-

The van went,

Leaving a smoky-

unappetizing scent.

And driving the van-

For the entire day.

Meeting new drivers-

Along the way.

The van driver slowly

Grew a chevron,

Then a furry beard,

On and on he steered…

Attaching rafts to both sides

To cross the Atlantic Ocean-

Without a surfer or a guide.

Darting from the US to the UK

Afterwards the driver-

Went on a bathroom break

In the middle of the ocean!-

And then ate Deliveroo steak.

But the fun doesn’t stop there,

The driver throws plastic bottles(at rocks), dances ballet,

beeps the steering wheel

And eats people’s deliveries the entire day.

But his personal favourite has to

be sleeping all night long.

It’s his only time to rest,

and sing his favourite songs.

Finally he got to the Jen Building,

Opening his van door with an oily smell

To discover half a piece of steak left

Then he left and said farewell.
